Hello Everyone!
I don’t know if I’m the only one… But I am never motivated to clean. So, how did I resolve that problem? I made a weekly cleaning chart. For each day I gave myself two to three tasks. I took the days that I usually work into account, making those tasks easier. I also took the days that my boyfriend has off into account, so that we could have the most amount of time to spend together as possible! Along with my daily tasks, I have every day tasks, things that may not have to be done every day, but I put it on the list just in case.

So, this is my weekly cleaning list breakdown:

Monday:

  • 2 loads of laundry
  • Kitchen deep clean – this means cleaning the fronts of the cabinets, wiping out the fridge shelves, cleaning the microwave, moving everything off of the counter tops and wiping them down, cleaning the kitchen floors, etc.

Tuesday:

  • Cleaning the guest bathroom – sink, toilet, floor, and the bathtub if needed.
  • Washing the dog food and water bowls and the mats that they sit on

Wednesday:

  • 2 loads of laundry
  • Mop the living room and dining room

Thursday:

  • Clean the master bath
  • Vacuum the master bedroom

Friday:

  • 2 loads of laundry
  • Sweep and mop the mud room
  • Wash dog food and water bowls and mats (if needed)

Saturday:

  • Deep clean living room – wipe down the coffee and side table, sweep under the couch, dust window sills, etc.
  • Dust around the house – wine rack, entertainment center, ceiling fans, blinds, etc.

Sunday:

  • This day I alternate tasks, I will either wash our bedding or give my pups a bath
  • Quick mop of the floors

Everyday Tasks:

  • Dishes – load and unload
  • Sweep
  • Clear off kitchen and coffee tables
  • Put away all laundry
  • Kitchen clean – counters wiped down, sink empty, leftovers put away, pots and pans clean and put away, etc.

And, last but not least, for any miscellaneous tasks, I use a notepad and write down everything that I need to do for the week. From there, I split all the tasks up and assign them to days in my planner. These tasks usually are put in full box hear checklists, those are my favorite for cleaning and to do lists!

Now, this was inspired by the every so wonderful Jen DuFore from Jen Plans. I adore Jen and I envy how organized she is… And her home notebook, I’m working on one for myself.

How do you guys ensure that you get the household chores done? Do you have a system or do you just wing it day to day? Let us know below in the comments, with two dapper dogs, we have to keep the house clean!
