Hello everyone!

As you all know, the home that we found is currently being renovated for us. I haven’t given you guys an update in a while, so I wanted to let you know what has been going on. As much as I am dying to show you guys the inside, it isn’t quite finished yet, so you’ll have to stay tuned.

Here is what has happened so far! Our little pink house had all of it’s old drywall torn out. We opened up the kitchen to the living room with a larger entryway and a large beam. The new roof on the addition has been finished and got brand new insulation. They also put in beautiful brand new windows and a gorgeous set of french doors. Our new laminate wood floors have been put in. Our new bathtub has been installed. Our modern grey paint color is up on the walls and all of the trim for the windows and doors has been painted. The tile has been put in our bathrooms and laundry room and the shower surround is being worked on as we speak. Our spectacular cabinets have been installed and the new appliances have been bought. Our little house is coming together so well, we can’t wait to move in!

Now for the outside of our home! Our little pink home is now a little grey home! Our brand new vinyl siding has been put up and you will not believe the difference that it has made! We are still waiting for the shutters to be put back up, but I cannot wait for the finished product! Along with that, we got a brand new front door. Our door is only primed right now, so it is white, however, we are thinking of different colors to paint it, please leave some suggestions below for us. In addition to that, they are working on the outdoor lighting on each side of the french doors and all of the roofing problems have been fixed.

Finally, we are in the home stretch of this renovation and the last few months of our lease. I have expressed my displeasure with the apartment complex we live in and every day my frustrations grow; between the clomps of our upstairs neighbor’s heels and the sound of what seems like a bowling ball rolling across the floor, I’m about to lose my mind. Throw pregnancy on top of that and the lack of sleep due to pregnancy hormones (I think) and I am one miserable momma. Each day it gets more and more real that we will soon be out of our first apartment together and in our first home.

The most exciting news about moving is we finally decided which bedroom is going to be the nursery for our little one! As soon as I found out that I was pregnant, the decision was on for what room would be the baby’s. I may have mentioned before that I wanted one of the rooms, which is particularly dark, to be a little movie room/home theater. Well, that idea got nixed as soon as we found out that I was expecting. It seemed a little silly to have a room purely dedicated to watching movies when we needed some space for Freddie’s son when he came up, a place he could make his own.

We have spent a lot of time on the other side of the city over the past month or so, just walking through the house deciding what will go where and it has been so much fun. It’s so amazing to just be able to walk through this home knowing that it is your blank canvas to decorate and make your own! After hours and hours of talking about what will go where and what we need to buy, I think we are pretty set on where we want to put our furniture and knick knacks.

If you guys have been through a renovation, how did you like it? Have you sworn off of renovations all together or are you hooked? Don’t forget to let us know what you’d like to see in the future in the comment box below and give us suggestions on paint colors for our front door! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram so you don’t miss any updates from the dapper dog family.

Also, I must ask for some prayers from you guys. In order to save some money on the insulation installation costs, my dad decided to take it on himself. Unfortunately, dapper grandpa’s ladder buckled and he fell over three feet onto the concrete floor. He broke his heel and has had two surgeries to correct it, however, he is still in quite a bit of pain. Please send him some healing prayers, he could truly use them. Thank you!

  1. Hi, This is your Aunt Sandy. I am going to reply to your blog and this posting.

Mariah I am so proud of you for creating your reality for you and your family…the one you and your significant other chooses to live. That is very powerful in itself! I Pray that what is in your heart is granted to you and your family.

Remember that being humble, grateful and extending love to all in that happens in your life and around you is very important.

Just send blessings to the things that are not in agreement with you and all the challenges that show up. The eeks in your heart are the times we are to practice being humble, extending grace and love.

I pray that you and your family are blessed with wisdom and discernment in all you do!!

Your mom and I and standing in for you, your family and future generations!!

    Love Ya Bunches
