Hi everyone!

I know, Jacob is almost ten months old, but I want to get back on the horse with these posts. Life has been so busy recently and I have so much to share with you! But first, I want to share Jacob’s update.

I know I say it every month, but I am still dumbfounded by this growing little boy that used to be my itty bitty baby. Jacob can do so much now. He is pulling up on things, trying to crawl, can sit up on his own, and really can move around. This kid is always wanting to be on the go all the sudden. He used to be content just sitting in his momma’s lap — not anymore!  Jacob has entered full on explorer-mode, always wanting to check out what I’m holding and hold it too. Goodness forbid he sees the remote or my cell phone, he will spend the next half hour plotting on how to steal it from me.

Jacob has had a ton more independent playtime this month. I have been able to set him in his pack and play with his toys and walk away. Thank goodness, because I have been very busy. He is still loving his stackable rings and his shape sorting bucket. However, we have some new favorites to add to the list too, like his favorite wooden spoon from the kitchen and his absolutely delicious bath books. Nothing, however, tops his absolute favorite toys, his Cookie Monster and Elmo plush toys!

My one real gripe about this month is about Jacob’s teeth. For months and months I have sworn Jacob had teeth on the horizon. I can feel and see them right below his gums. He always has things in his mouth, he bites me constantly, and he has been fairly whiny recently. I swore all month long that his teeth were coming. No such luck. Jacob is still a toothless wonder, or as my husband refers to him: Gummy McGummerson.

Jacob is doing absolutely wonderful with his sleep. There isn’t too much to update, honestly. Jacob has been a great nighttime sleeper for most of his life. I am loving that he is able to put himself to sleep now and he doesn’t have to fall asleep on me. Naps are a completely different story. Jacob is not great at nap time, he just wants to lay with his momma. It’s always a struggle of getting things done vs getting baby snuggles. Getting snuggles from Jacob usually win.
