10 months. It makes me so sad to think that soon these updates will be coming to an end. Only two more months until Jacob’s first birthday. It’s surreal to think that it has almost been a year. The amount of growing that he has done, that my heart has done, is unbelievable.
So I know last month I said Jacob was pulling up on things. I was wrong. He was exploring. NOW he is pulling up on things. By things I mean every single thing in our house. The coffee table, the giraffe statue I have, the kitchen table chairs, the couch, his walker, his toy box, his crib. You name it, he has stood beside it. Not only is he pulling up on any and every thing; Jacob is also crawling. From the beginning I swore Jacob wasn’t going to be a crawling baby. He was so obsessed with standing, no one thought he would ever crawl. Boy, oh boy was I wrong. Just like pulling up, Jacob is anywhere and everywhere these days. If you leave him in one room, he follows you. Goodness forbid you leave the fridge open, he will crawl right in!
I would say this past month was Jacob’s least independent month that he has had in a long while. He has definitely hit a hugely clingy stage this month. He has to be very distracted in order to be put down and be walked away from. I think more than anything now he is really just enjoying learning and human interaction. He loves to have little conversations with me and his dad. Jacob now says “dada”, “baba”, and “mama” from time to time. He has also recently started working on his “p” and “n” sounds. My mom and dad are hoping to hear “nana” and “papa” soon!
I can’t say much in complaints for this month. Jacob has been amazing. His only issue seems to be that his teeth are coming, we just don’t know when. We can feel his teeth right below the surface and have been able to almost all month, but they just aren’t coming! I don’t know what is up. Little dude will have teeth some day, but today is not that day.
Jacob went through a little bit of a rough patch with his sleeping this past month. He was waking up in the middle of the night for feedings which he hadn’t been doing. I know that sleep regression from 8-10 months is normal, but every time Jacob would wake, he would look for us. It seemed more like he was wanting to be held, not going through a sleep regression. So Freddie and I discussed it and we moved Jacob to his bedroom. It was the hardest decision I’ve made thus far. He’s only been in his room for a week and a half now and he’s doing so great. J is no longer waking up in the middle of the night and he is waking up happy and his naps are much more consistent. Overall, I’m very happy with the decision that we made.
I’ve been hugely slacking on Jacob’s favorites and I know they were a favorite for many to read. I’m hoping to get back on the horse with those this month. I don’t think I’ll be back-publishing any from previous months though because I just don’t have the time, unfortunately. Only time will tell!
Okay, you guys. I think that just about wraps up Jacob’s 10 month update. I’m so happy that I got this out for you in a reasonable time frame and I hope you enjoyed it.
Jacob was born on October 1st, 2016 weighing 12lbs 6oz and was 20 inches long. You can read more about my birth story here.
Weight – I would guess around 23lbs still
Height – 30 inches – he has grown about an inch a month since his birth
Clothing size – 9-12 months or 12-18 months still
Jacob loves – exploring everything, pulling up on the coffee table, reading books with momma, dancing, listening to music, crawling around, and quality time with his nana, papa, and big-ma.
Jacob dislikes – getting diaper changes, staying still during nursing, taking naps, and being told “no”.
Jacob started – crawling, pulling up on everything, walking with his push walker, waving, saying “na-na” and “ba-ba”, eating more consistent meals.
Jacob has zero teeth
I hope everyone enjoyed our little update! Until next time.
